Now that I finalized the concept of using environments and creatures to create this simulation of this "world creator," I wanted to see what types of environments I wanted to make for the film. I used Maya in the last Bi-Weekly to create the environments using pre-made assets. I wanted to challenge myself, however.
During the process of this project, I was also working on another project for a different class where I decided to learn Blender and use that as the main program for creating that specific project. While working on that project, I realized that Blender was a lot quicker to get used to than when I was learning Maya. The render times were faster, and the Geometry node system was very difficult to learn but got the hang of it very quickly. I decided to challenge myself and use Blender as the main program for creating the environment.
For the Landscapes themselves, I wanted to have the typical ones typically used in media and use the cycles rendered on Blender to give them a realistic look.
Ideas that came up:
Forest
Ocean
Volcano
Artic/Glacier
Canyon
Wasteland
City (possible but wanted more natural)
